RICHTIS

The coal loading facility located in the port of Kymi is an extremely interesting construction from the early 20th century (1913), which is connected to the first steps of coal mining in Greece.

In 1912, coal from the mines in Entzi began to be transported to the port of Kymi by a railway that extended to Enoria, and from there, it was transported by aerial wagons to Richtis, where it was loaded onto ships. The mines continued to operate until the 1960s.

This construction is an important testimony to the techniques and equipment used in the transportation of mining products, and it also serves as a reference point for the port and the residents of the area.
