The Folklore Museum of Kymi was founded in 1981 by the Educational and Cultural Association of Kymi. It is the largest and best-organized folklore museum in Evia and one of the finest regional museums in the country.
It is housed in a three-story neoclassical building dating back to the late 19th century. The museum features rich collections of artifacts, numbering around 1600 items. Visitors can see, among other things, an accurate representation of a traditional house.
The multipurpose hall, located in the museum’s extension, is used for lectures, seminars, art exhibitions, and educational programs.
In the museum’s garden, there is an outdoor circular theater where many events and performances take place during the summer.
